Aphrodite, 2003 , Bronze     The sculpture represents the ancient goddess Aphrodite emerging from the aphros ("sea foam"), her hair gradually transforming into waves as the sea carries her to land.           In Greek mythology, Aphrodite is the goddess of love, beauty and sexual rapture.   ^ Top of page
